That’s how Ars Technica described Microsoft’s 44.6 billion bid for Yahoo. My thoughts? Pretty bummed actually. I use Flickr and a few other Yahoo services and hate the possibility to have Microsoft’s stench touch them. Making me really look at using my SmugMug account exclusively if Yahoo does end up being purchased. I guess time will tell but don’t see how this will a good thing for two different companies who have been unsuccessful at toppling Google’s stranglehold on search combining to form one company that will be unsuccessful at toppling Google. I really think Yahoo’s strong point is their service offering and they ought to focus on that area rather than search. Same with Microsoft, they ought to be focusing on their OS business (I am looking at you Vista). But hey what do I know?

Been planning on getting a new bed for awhile and finally cracked. We ordered one of them new fangled SelectComfort 5000 aka “Sleep Number” beds. How is it? Don’t know yet won’t be here for another week or so. But rest assured I will be posting as detailed review. Especially since searching online all I can find people saying is either horrible things “it deflated!” or it’s awesome “never slept better!” so…… I want to give a totally unbiased honest review. Stay tuned!

Google Maps are pretty neat in general. With the recent fire in our area (Canyon Country) the City of Santa Clarita has put together a pretty neat mash-up of where the fires burned. It actually a gives pretty good perspective rather than some just random fire icon on a map. You can check the map of the burned areas out here. 

Ok I get it. It’s jarring to see a house burned to the ground that was there less than 24 hours ago. But really, do you need to drive up, stop, get out your car stand on my lawn and gawk. Or maybe you feel so inclined as to have the gall to walk over and stand in the rubble of someone’s home that was just taken from them. Seriously. If I weren’t a Christian I might be inclined to wish something horrible happen to you and your family and then have people buzz around and be irreverent. So do us all the favor of not buzzing around.

P.S. you news people are just as bad.
